Whillyboat

Hi there you Home Boat Builders,

I've just found your site and it makes interesting reading/viewing.  Personally I'm not an HBB because I probably haven't the skills, certainly don't have the space or the tenacity, but I'd always wanted an Ian Oughtred-designed Whillyboat and when I saw one advertised some years ago I was quick with the chequebook.  I've not regretted it.  She was professionally built by Tough's boatyard at Teddington, and has served me well.  Yes, I'm getting to the point ....................

I guess the forum admin will delete this posting if it seems I'm trying to seduce any potential HBBs into buying my Whillyboat instead of building their own, but that's just what I'm up to.  Also, if a potential builder wants to sail mine before putting in several hundred hours of effort, then give be a call.  I'm in Wiltshire, and generally sail at Poole Harbour, but I'm not averse to travel.

Full details and photos from:
Steve Ellis,  01380 738604,  s.ellis917@btinternet.com

Regards to you all ..............

Re: Whilly boat

Hi Steve
I would strongly advise placing an ad in

Watercraft-Magazine

The rates are very reasonable and it will hit the right audience.  I'd also recommend putting a price in euros. The North Europeans especially the Dutch are very fond of Oughtred Double-enders and exchange rates are favourable for them at the moment.

Good Luck.

Re: Whilly boat

Thanks Graham.  It is in the next issue, but the tip about a Euro-price is interesting. I'll see if there is chance to add that.
Regards
Steve
